We provide a flexible program

and activities. Our program is offered two (Tu,Th), three

p.m. The ratio of children to teaching staff is 8:1.

Circle Time. Students then spend 40
minutes of guided learning in small groups—determined
by age and ability. Each group is led by one teacher and involves
songs, games, special projects, stories, and discussion of themes
and topics. We also provide a nutritious snack. On MWF afternoon,
this is when we offer the K-Plus programming.
Outdoor Play. Weather permitting, we play (10-30 min.) in our
well-equipped, fenced yard.
Field Trips We organize special trips from time-to-time around
the theme of the month. Past trips include outings to museums,
stables, fire stations and flower gardens.
Early Literacy Program. Our curriculum incorporates the Letterland
early literacy program.
A Bona Fide School. St. Christopher’s is not a daycare,
it’s a school staffed with experienced, professionally-qualified
educators. Our children are given the opportunity to work on
preschool and kindergarten level worksheets and twice each year
we send parents development checklists to monitor their child’s
progress. These “early assessments” play a critical
role in identifying children with speech, developmental or other
challenges. St. Christopher’s makes the transition to
Kindergarten more successful by helping our children to develop
confidence and self-help skills. |
